Holiday Season Lighting Ceremony
*Holiday Season Lighting Ceremony*
Thanks to everyone who joined the Museum of Social Justice in the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the El Pueblo De Los Angeles. The weather did not prevent the crowd from spending an evening of entertainment at the birthplace of Los Angeles.
The stage and Christmas Tree were located just a few feet in front of La Plaza United Methodist, home to the museum. The location provided a constant stream of visitors through its doors, who were welcomed by museum board members, volunteers and historians who eagerly shared the Church’s history of social justice and outreach to the community. Visitors also enjoyed the comfort of the Church while they relaxed and viewed a short documentary on the mission of the Museum. The night ended with one of board members pulling the winning raffle ticket for a vintage framed print of La Plaza United Methodist Church taken in 1926. Congratulations to the winner, Silvia Aguayo. We look forward to seeing you all next year!
