Arnett Hartsfield Jr. (June 14, 1918 – October 31, 2014)
Please join the Museum of Social Justice in memory of Arnett Hartsfield. Hartsfield being one out of 80 black firefighters helped integrate the Los Angeles Fire Department. He was one of the founding members of the Stentorians, a black firefighters group. Hartsfield was also a lawyer and taught at California State University, Long Beach. He also was founder of the African American Firefighter Museum and volunteered as a historian. Arnett Hartsfield Jr. saved lives, fought against injustices and inequalities, provided community service, and was an educator. He dedicated his life to others and the Museum of Social Justice would like to applaud and commemorate his life’s achievements.
