Educational Programs & Workshops

Oral History Workshops

Presented by Virginia Espino of the UCLA Library Center for Oral History Research, UCLA staff trains community members in oral history methods to record the stories of Olvera Street merchants, Historic La Plaza UMC congregation members, and others.

Docent Training

Training is provided for those interested in serving as Museum docents. Additionally, we will coordinate with the other museums, churches, and non-profits to provide a comprehensive and inclusive approach in telling the story of Olvera Street and the founding of Los Angeles.

Lectures & Discussions on Historical and Current Issues

Lectures, discussions, workshops, and special events are planned throughout the year, bringing to the Museum prominent experts on Los Angeles’ diverse communities, arts, music, literature, media, social movements, and history.
