Inaugural Exhibit Opening

Angels on the Plaza

 September 5, 2013-March 2014

The inaugural exhibition features images, objects, and documents from the Museum of Social Justice and institutions within the Methodist Church archival collections. The display is the result of the social justice work carried out by the men and women who founded La Plaza United Methodist Church and Community Center. It examines the impoverished living conditions of the immigrant population in and around the Plaza from 1910-1927, which the founders used to secure funding to create health, education, and employment programs to serve the community. The exhibition is designed to hopefully inspire its visitors to become advocates for social justice.
