L.A. Black Worker Center’s Black History Tribute honoring Civil Rights legend Mrs. Gwen Green
On February 23, 2016 the Museum of Social Justice was proud to host the Los Angeles Black Worker Center’s Black History Tribute honoring Civil Rights legend Mrs. Gwen Green. Reverend Kelvin Sauls, Senior Pastor of Holman United Methodist Church served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening’s program. The Museum was honored to have been part of such a well-deserved acknowledgement of a local hero who has given her life in service of human and civil rights. Mrs. Green received awards from Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilman Curren Price, and the Black Workers Center for her lifelong commitment to social justice. In attendance representing the Museum were Executive Director, Leonora Barron; Board President, Keith Rice; board member, Aida Feria; and volunteers, Danielle Wilson and Kristin Medina.
